Expected Cutoff
for a call from FMS - 320 - 340 net marks
FMS 2005 Analysis
FMS 2005 was on the pattern of FMS 2004. But there were
no questions on DI and GK this time. Otherwise the number
of questions was also the same as that of last year.
On the whole, students coming out of the examination
hall would have attempted around 110+ questions. Very
good students would have touched 125 attempts with a
strike rate of around 80+%. It is expected that the
cutoff will be higher than last year and would be around
320-340.
Reasoning
This area had small cases with 3-4
questions as well as individual questions. The questions
were of moderate level of difficulty. A good student
could have attempted around 25 questions and got 15+
right.
Verbal Ability and Reading
Comprehension
The Verbal Ability area had
easy questions on Fill-in-the-blanks, and slightly more
difficult questions on Synonyms, Antonyms and Analogies.
The RC passages of this paper were long but the saving
grace was that the questions were very easy. A good
student of RC should have got at least 40 questions
in this area right.
Quantitative Ability
This area had a mix of questions with questions coming
from most of the topics. Many of the questions were
easy and it would not have been too difficult picking
these easy ones. A good student should have got 25+
questions right.
