IIFT-Delhi to Hold National Level Finance Symposium 2006

Theme: "Mergers and Acquisition: Emerging Trends"
Scheduled for October 11, 2006 at Hotel Taj President, Mumbai

Mergers and acquisitions have become a normal phenomenon, both at the international as well as domestic level. The last few years have witnessed an unprecedented number of deals. India alone saw nearly 340 deals in 2005 with the stakes involved amounting to nearly $18 Billion. This figure is expected to touch $24 Billion this year, as more and more companies are using this tool for growth.

There has been a tremendous increase in the number of cross border deals as well. However, mergers and acquisitions are not a cakewalk, and there are various issues, challenges and complications involved. It is to address these challenges that IIFT invites the leaders from the industry and offers them a platform to deliberate on them.
