Human Resource Shines
at MDI Gurgaon Placements 2006
Management Development Institute, Gurgaon,
one of the premier B-schools of India, completed the
successful placements of 2004-2006 Batch. The Class
of 2006 at MDI, Gurgaon, set new standards of achievement
by attracting leading companies from India and abroad
during the placement process. The mean domestic
salary offered this year was Rs. 8.61 Lakhs.
Similarly, the average salary for the inaugural HR batch
stood at an impressive figure of Rs. 8.03 Lakhs, with
a median figure of Rs. 7.75 Lakhs.
The companies, which came for
recruitment, consisted of a diverse mix of sectors -
from FMCG to BFSI, Consumer Durables to Consultancy,
IT & ITES to Media, making attractive profile and
package offerings to the students.

Human Resource (HR),
was the highlight of Placements 2006. Recruiters for
HR came from a variety of sectors including IT, Consulting,
Banking, FMCG, Manufacturing and Media, among others,
in which 52 students were recruited in record time.
The star recruiters included William Mercer, Hewitt
Associates, Bharti, Grow Talent Consulting, Air India,
GSK, the Aditya Birla Group and GE.

MDI's marketing domain
was strengthened by the likes of ITC, Godrej and Boyce,
Reckitt Benckiser, the Aditya Birla Group and Nestle.
These companies recruited nearly 46% of the batch for
both marketing as well as sales profiles.
The Finance and Banking
sector included recruiters from Deutsche Bank, Goldman
Sachs, J.P. Morgan, ICRA, GE, DSP Merrill Lynch, UTI
Bank and ICICI. Nearly 29 % of the PGPM batch secured
an offer with a Finance profile.
With the growing strength of Indian
IT industry a large chunk of students
were recruited by major names in IT that includes IBM,
Infosys, Wipro, Patni and HCL.

Upbeat about the recruiter response
to this year's Rolling Placements, Prof. Subir
Verma, Placement Head, expressed, "Going
by the strong recruiter response so far, we are looking
forward to another excellent placement season this year.
The companies, who came for recruitment, were extremely
happy with the caliber of our candidates."
The faculty and students are rejoicing
the success of this year's placements and are confident
that the results will re-affirm MDI's standing among
the premier Business Schools of the country.
